If you are using Microsoft Continuum to launch a third party application when starting Microsoft Dynamics GP, there is a random issue which occurs from time to time for no apparent reason. As an example, we will use Continuum to launch a 3rd party application that needs an ODBC connection. I.B.I.S.’ very own Vanessa Swatek presented “How To: What You May Not Know About Field Service for Microsoft Dynamics GP” at Convergence DayONE. Currently, Vanessa, Michelle and Deni’s presentation is in the Top 10 of all DayONE presentations for presenter effectiveness. Among just GP presenters on DayONE, they are number 4! Vanessa did a wonderful job representing I.B.I.S. and sharing her knowledge of field service. Congratulations, Vanessa!

The latest release of Field Service Anywhere will be unveiled at this year’s Microsoft Convergence. Field Service Anywhere extends the Microsoft Dynamics GP Service Call Management module to the field by enabling technicians to easily create, update and complete service calls from remote locations, with or without network connectivity. This release includes a major user interface change which will provide a consistent user experience through the use of ribbon controls and advanced navigation, all focusing on ease of use. This is a must-see release whether you are an existing user or just entertaining mobile service technology. TaxAssist – Purchasing interface

If you are planning to use the TaxAssist interface to Purchasing with the new Self-Assess tax feature, you will need to make sure that you set up the proper tax accounts. From the TaxAssist Setup window, click the Purchasing Options button to open the Purchase Tax Options window.
Sync error message on Tech login

“The service call setup table has not been synchronized to your client database….”
If this error message occurs when the Tech attempts to log in to the FSA client, it means that the FSA_Subscriber database does not exist for the user, and the Reset at Next Login parameter is not checked. It is likely the FSA_Subscriber database has been removed on purpose (due to a password change for the Tech’s user id). Continue reading »
